290c9c538f Replace decimal OBJID representation in auto-generated headers by hexadecimal (taking advantage of new UAVObjGenerator). It makes easier to read and compare them with files on SD card. This does not change OBJID values and should be completely transparent.

dbc5d26605 splitting uavobject generation by language and cleanup: 
- all languages to generate where processed everytime. In most runs only flight and/or gcs was needed but also matlab and python code was generated - now uavobjectgenerator has command line arguments to specify which languages to build and there are also new targets in the makefile.
 - generation code for all languages was in the parser section - was bit of a mess in general - now all splitted
 - its now more easy for new devs to add a new language or find relevant code for the language he is interested in

initial java generation:
 - uavobjectgenerator can now generate java code for uavobjects

b7cb562009 OP-262 GCS: new "About Authors" dialog which displays the contents of the CREDITS.txt file. We should actually have a makefile script which takes credits.txt, parses it and updates the CREDITS.html file whenever we compile the GCS, to enable a nicer display of the authors.

809f4f7e07 Started updating the connection manager to tell the connection plugins to poll or not in a central location. Updated the rawhid and serialconnection plugins to reflect this. 
More updates to uploader gadget.

Updated the telemetrymonitor and telemetrymanager to set the GCS connection status to "Disconnected" when the user click on "Disconnect" (was not done before, and lead to confusion...)

31d9230ad7 OP-233 Mock up of Gyro drift calibration interface added. Sliders will autoupdate when the temperature changes, and will 
compute the new drift value, with a button to update it. Will probably add an icon indicating whether the temperature difference
is large enough to compute a reliable drift.

b826d4e51f Ground: Windows NSIS multilingual installer script and resources. To build the installer one needs an Unicode NSIS package and optionally SubWCRev utility (part of TortoiseSVN client, also available separately) to embed some interesting revision info into the installer executable. Please help with translations of strings_xx.nsh (utf-8 files). Only English and Russian are currently translated. Initial installer language is detected automatically but can be changed by user. Some hooks to the GCS should be done to preset a language on the 1st run.

9b61879146 New Barometer dial for the 'default' set. This one uses an experimental feature of the dials plugin, which enables the display of the value on the dial on top of the needle, let me know if you like it.

a552addbf7 Updated the serial plugin to poll every 2 secs for new Serial ports on MacOS and Linux, where we don't get system events whenever a Serial/USB adapter is plugged in. No change 
on windows where the OS already told our plugin about such events. Polling thread is lightweight, no worries...

398ae4f90a Notify plugin did not work at all on Linux due to hardcoded backslashes in the path. Now using Qt "native separators" to become multiplatform. 
One standing issue: the 1st second of the sound only is played...

d96a9aace9 OP-223 Basic support for X-Plane implemented. New Wiki documentation should be written, but basically: use 127.0.0.2 as the local IP, 127.0.0.1 as the destination IP, choose a (free) port as the input port which you will setup in the inet3 tab with dest address 127.0.0.2, and output port as 49000. Enjoy! 
One potential issue: X-Plane expects 4-byte floats, the code is potentially not 64bit compliant...

fc27419cf6 OP-220 1st attempt at "horizontal bias calibration" for the AHRS. Very basic calculation over 100 samples, be my guest to make it more sophisticated if necessary, all the basics are there, you just have to plug a better algo!

195c811c90 HITL/SITL: Flightgear now works in SITL mode with the current stabilization algorithm which includes gyro rates. Upped the rate for attitudeactual and attituderaw to a value which makes the stabilization algo work properly, will cause trouble on slow machines.

1ef88e854b OP-214 SSP protocol now implemented on the Uploader gadget, and board halt/reboot is now tested and working. Not tried an actual firmware flash yet, but if you do, please report (should work). 
I have done my best to make the interface foolproof, by only enabling the relevant buttons in the relevant situations, please let me know if this creates trouble in some use-cases I have overlooked...

4b4a66c2d7 PiOS/I2C: Lots of small changes. Added a few weird bus events that are 
sometimes thrown, and made errors not lock it up by default.  It works for me,
but since this has historically been associated with lots of lock ups please
check your systems carefully.

PiOS/I2C: Make the bus by default try to recover from errors instead of locking
up

PiOS/I2C: After a bus error and clocking all previous data create a STOP
condition to make sure bus is released (note, this also requires creating a
START condition first)

PiOS/I2C: If the same event hits the I2C bus twice in a row then disregard
second one, there is no situation where we should get the same event multiple
times that matters and this gets us out really quickly to catch the real
events.  I was seeing this with repeated 0x70084 which means byte transmitted.
This is related to STM32 bugs in the IRQ timings I believe.

PiOS/I2C: 1) Mask out some bits we don't care about in the event flags
2) Don't lock up if the give semaphore fails, although why it does is strange
3) Recover from bus failure through the "auto" state path instead of just
coding state

PiOS/I2C: Change the reset bus code to follow

(thanks for the reference Neontangerine).  Although this may actually NOT clear
the bus the first time through, subsequent bus errors should eventually clock
it out.  The up side is it is less likely to clock a bunch of 1s into an ESC
and make it run up.

something strange happens

PiOS/I2C: Export logging information from I2C through a UAV object

PiOS/I2C: Improve the diagnostic information

PiOS/I2C: Need to handle the event 0x30084.  This seems to happen between a
byte transmitted and new byte started

PiOS/I2C: Handle the NACK condition by simply going to the stopping state.

PiOS/I2C: Add a new NACK state to handle sending the STOP signal after a NACK
following the STM documentation.  Other error conditions still are not dealt
with.

PiOS/I2C: Should handle the NACK condition from all the write cases.  Need to
think about read cases

c7eb0c912c GCS Control - controller now only updates the OP hardware when it is in GCSControl mode. 
Previously it would update all the time and this could create glitches in control when both a standard Tx and the GCS were connected to the flight H/W.

6f1e7b4e41 AHRS: Add a configuration to export the sensor data either with or without INS 
bias correction.  This is useful for stabilization to get rid of the gyro bias.
Making it an option is important for calibration.

a4ba7fcbee Added option to start Flightgear 1.9.1 simulator as a stand alone application, optionally from a networked computer. Also enabled joystick input to control flightgear for complete manual control and debugging purposes. Joystick needs to be connected and armed in the GUI. Tested on WinXP. UDP receive needs more testing on linux.

c463abab93 OP-202 Cleaned up the 'File' menu and removed (commented out) the entries which are not doing anything. "Save All" now saves the current GCS config so that everything is not lost in case of a crash. Easy to revert in case you don't like it. Also: 
moved the logging menu entries to 'tools' where I think they belong - comments welcome - and also small change to iconnection.h to remove compile-time warnings.

f1c31d422e OP-35 Big refactor and update of the DFU object. Upload/download operations are now asynchronous and do not freeze the UI. Firmware download implemented. More details and explanations for each step of operations. 
I have updated the firmware on my mainboard with success several times on this, but it might very well destroy your board right away, just be cautious!

0a2cfbacc7 Updated MixerCurveWidget so that it can have ranges other than 0 to 1. 
Default behaviour not changed.
New functions allow the setting of the max and min values for the curve.
0 to 1 range is needed when output is used for motors.
-1 to 1 range is needed when output is used for a servo.

9ad1618739 OP-138 Quad and Hexa implemented, custom table works (read only, not edit), and code improved to enable definition of matrices 
in simple tables instead of ugly lines of code. Testers needed. Cautious testers. Also reshuffled the AHRS UI to put 6-point above sensor noise.
Next will be octo and coaxial frames.

2a47f4baca more modifications to UI for ccpm mixing. 
will now read back mixer settings from the flight hardware and try to determine the swashplate config automatically.
Looks good but only basic testing performed so far.
this has not been tested for flight in it's current form.

(status: compilation OK, function yet untested)
xplane and flightgear yet need to be fixed
Note: I needed to change /libs/utils/coordinateconversions.h to have access to previously protected utility functions used to convert LLA to ECEF/RNE for HomeLocation
Code for this is "inspired by" flight/OpenPilot/Modules/GPS

9a90a124fd Ground: Updated Hitl plugin and FlightGear to provide PositionActual. 
Currently the only value that works is PositionActual.Down wich is mapped to the altitude.
PositionActual.North and PositionActual.East are hardcoded to zero.
Also defined M_PI as it said it was no defined.

d971746d26 Remove IT translation, two Italian speakers in the project have stated that the GCS will be in English and that this is common for computer programs in Italy. The chances of it being used as small and finding translators is even smaller.

ba3ecada1d Flight/ManualControl: Implemented settings to change what the Mode switch does 
so it can also change parameters of Stabilization.  Please check your aircraft

9f34044d74 OP-175/Ground: Hopefully fixed some Modelview crashes on Windows due to VBO enabled by default in GLC_Lib. 
Added debug message displaying current VBO states (enabled, supported, used) - check with mouse right-click.
Please confirm that this does not break the plugin on other systems and that VBO can be enabled and really
is used by GLC_lib on supported systems. Also changed default 3ds model path.

0c30101f54 AHRS: Made an object setting to allow the downsampling rate to be changed on the 
fly (EKF rate up to a limit).  Also, now the algorithm selects if you are
indoor or outdoor as well as if you use a mag indoor (if you do set the z
variance higher than it calibrates to).

bd6754cd6b OP-138 Mixer: fixed wing works, and Quad-Plus and Quad-X configurations are supported. Not tested for obvious reasons, since I am working in the train. 
You can check how this works for you and report bugs. Layout works fine with screens as small as 800x600.

c2fee8fc6d GCS: Right, fixed this the right way per suggestion of PeterG (Thanks :) 
). Splitters now have 6 pixels of grab area on each side again, without
crashing 4.7.0.
I still is ugly code, but Qt leaves us no option :) Added some comments
to make this clear.

77b68e5169 Flight/Guidance: Initial template for guidance module 
Flight: Create PositionDesired (the active waypoint) UAVObject and make the FlightSituationActual no update since it not used.
Flight: New velocity desired object that passes information between the look computing the desired velocity and the PID loop to get it (updated at different rates)
UAVObjects/PositionActual: Remove unused GPS fields
UAVObjects/PositionActual VelocityActual: Split the velocity into a separate object.  ALso make sure all the information telemetered around is in cm to avoid using floats.
UAVObject/GuidanceSettings: New guidance settings object for the guidance module
Flight/Posix: Add the new objects to the Posix sim
Flight/Guidance: Computes a desired velocity based on position error than runs a PID loop to control roll and pitch to achieve that velocity.  All distances are in cm, and updated the PositionActual fields to reflect this and use int32.

9b28f2d72c OP-167 OP-157 AHRS/Calibration: Added mag scale and really cleaned up calibration. 
Calibration should take less time now too (using second moments to estimate
variance in one pass).  Now need to change to multiple messages to get the
calibration in to keep the request message size minimal.  Also currently
running sensor calibrate doesn't store the gyro bias so if you want to use this
you'll have to tweak it manually.  I'll fix that step tomorrow.

1758f55f1c GCS GPS Display: Noticed redrawing got real slow if I left the GPS 
Display running for a while. I'm blaming that on the text area filling
with a million lines, though that still needs to be confirmed.
So I added a arbritrary 200 line limit, after which lines at the top
start disapearing. Seems sensible anyways :)

3dec1b4105 Added Compass dial to GCS share directory as it is working fine. Reminder: "artwork" is for work in progress and the developer repository for artwork in general. 
the share/openpilotgcs/dials contains the dials artwork which are installed with the GCS.

df0ed37d29 Ground/Logging: Supports replay. Still needs a sexy widget to allow seeking (although seeking will be difficult since technically it depends on the entire state but we can probably ignore that). Also I think the interface for replay shoudln't be through a menu item but should be like any other connection. The way I implemented it (custom QIODevice that buffers the logfile and reads the timestamps) makes this pretty easy to do. I'm just not familiar enough with the connection manager to do this. This means currently if you're connected to device and start a replay you get updates from two places.

5c9701753b OP-24 Ground/Logging: Made logging module use QIODevice passed to UAVTalk which inserts timestamps and object sizes. Should be trivial to implement read functionality. Need to confirm that QIODevice writes the data in the correct size though so timestamps are in the write place for sure.

0634f8ec53 This should fix the problem with splitter positions not being stored when the workspace their on isn't viewed before closing GCS, as Edouard found out. 
The source of this problem is that QSplitter.sizes() only returns the sizes set by setSizes() after the QSplitter is actually shown. Even though save/restoreState manages to retrieve them in the same situation. I think it's a bug, not sure if I can be motivated enough to report it though :)

e59a58aa0e GCS: Remove support in [UAVGadgetManager] for Settings/DefaultSettings. 
Wasn't really used since it wasn't properly finished (no support in UI).
The idea of having ways to support defaults is good, but can probably be
done better in a different way. (I like the idea of a embedded second
ini file, which serves as 'default'. But many ways are possible).

AS usual, write support removed, read support still there for now.

96990b5f60 GCS: Make [UAVGadgetManager] also human readable. 
Makes the ini file a bit more verbose, but debuggable/hackable :) (Not to mention more robust).

Again, I left in support for loading the binary version, so this shouldn't mess up people's configurations. Keep a backup handy anyways :)

In the future, that needs to be removed though.

Anyone with a 'old style' configuration may notice the binary versions are left in the ini file, I can't easily delete them without deleting the new groups also, but they won't cause any problems, and aren't read. Feel free to delete them for a clean ini file :)

I left in the 'DefaultSettings' stuff, but I think it can be removed too ( or whatever it was meant to support should be added :) ).

3b015b41c5 Flight: Got a much nicer arming/disarming system going. Made it a separate flag in the end to allow testing the stabilization code with motors not running. Also changes maxRoll/maxPitch/maxYaw to uint8 to keep object size smaller - no reason for float precision for this.

a6e71177e4 AHRS: Yaw stabilization now supports rate stabilization or heading hold. Also need to cleanly support rate stabilization on all the other axis. Les suggested this be in manual mode which will require changing the logic somewhat (essentially for vtol it will always be running through the Stabilization module) in an aircraft dependent manner. An alternative would be a stabilization flag indicating to do full attitude hold, attitude + yaw stabilization, or all axis gyro stabilization. This would be my preference.

1051d894b9 AHRS: Merged in some new code from Dschin that expliclity writes the prediction terms in the covariance matrix. Also made changes to compile with -Os. Now runs around 125 - 150 Hz depending on corrections used (this will become adjustable from GCS shortly).

f826ee0a20 Use QSettings key/properties instead of byte arrays for plugin configurations. 
I've left in the reading of the byte arrays for now, so people can load their old config files, on the next save they'll be converted. This should be removed at some point in the not too far future though, since it's a lot of duplicate code in each plugin.

I've converted all the plugins, it's certainly possible I made a typo somewhere, I tried to test as much as I could, sorry if I broke something though :)

c376711405 Flight/Stabilization: Make the derivative account for the sampling time (dAngle/dt) for the PID loop since integral does and also make the integral bounds uavobject settings. It was originally bounded by constant/Ki but I'm not sure why as you change the gain of the error integral you also want to decrease the maximum error it can cause.

c87ff38039 Some fixing/cleanup: 
- Swap fix type and satelite count in UI.
- Use QString for the packet signal, if it ever happens to be
multithreaded signal/slot this will be better (And char* should perish
:) )
- Make QString in the slots const and by reference, that seems to be
preferred (const = safer, reference = faster).
- Don't use 'new' QStrings in the nmea parser, not sot sure if that
causes memory leakage, but it wouldn't surprise me.
- Emit fix type updates from the (Serial) nmea parser.

44b41c32d2 gpsdisplay: correct lat/lon minute calculation for 3/4 of earth 
The computation of the minutes portion of the lat/lon was
wrong for any negative values.  lat-deg was effectively
doubling the whole degree part rather than removing it for
any negative whole degree part so you would get huge whole
minute parts.

c21d058110 Flight: Added ability to use a third accessory input. Currently using that to select tuning roll/pitch bias and PID tuning. I also _STRONGLY_ recommend if you enable these accessory channels (and thus these features) you make the saved meta data for the StabilizationSettings and AttitudeSettings read-only, so only on flights where you mean to can you change these settings. I'm also not convinced about the interface - it seems like flicking TX switches to get into adjustments is a recipe for disaster. Probably need to just control through GCS.

6589e55019 OP-52 Big update to GPS gadget: now supports a new mode, "Telemetry", to display the onboard GPS data, including GPS constellation. 
This is not tested in Windows yet - I will do this on another machine ASAP. It might break the serial mode as well, I just lack time to test everything but I will eventually do it.

65c832da35 Stop rawhid (Windows) from logging a debug message because it can't open 
all my input devices for writing. And also swap logging statements, so
that we do qDebug after GetLastError, since qDebug seems to wipe the
last error code.

4f246c64ca GCS/Logging: First pass at a logging plugin. Data format is 32 bit timestamp (in ms from start of logging) then the UAVObject.pack. Still want to add a header to indicate the objects available. Next part will be writing a reader and then making a gadget to control playback (and to indicate recording status).

f906346795 Ground/OPMap + Position Information: Initial version of conversion from NED to LLA and integration into OPMap. I don't particular love how this is done. The main issue is the Utils didn't like having any UAVObject stuff linked to them (in my hands). That means in OPMap gadget I had to write the code that will pull the HomeLocation and PositionActual together, but this code will likely need to be reused. I will update the Altitude getting code later too, I need to look how the whole internals::position is working on OPMap.

f202884ce8 AHRS: Numerous changes. Added CPU load monitoring for AHRS as well as some friendly debugging output options. Also added a new CalibrationMode setting to AHRS (Echo) to speed up sensor calibration. Cleaned up the 6 point calibration interface to make it more friendly, but I think Edouard will clobber it with something nice and sexy :).

ecac1fb79d nmea: parse GSV sentences and populate GPSSatellites object 
This creates a new UAVObject called GPSSatellites to hold
information about which satellites the GPS receiver can see
and the quality of their signals.

NMEA GSV sentences are now parsed.  The full set of GSV data
may be split across multiple GSV sentences, each containing
info for at most 4 satellites.  Once an entire set of GSV
records has been collected, the GPSSatellites UAVObject is
updated.

8128c3bbfa OP-118 AHRS: Added 6 point calibration routine to AHRS config widget. To use it, click "Cal Mode", then place the AHRS on each of 6 sides of a cube then click save position. Finally click compute to push the updated scale abd bias terms to the AHRS. Also fixed a bug in UAVObjectField that would not allow you to setDouble for extra fields.

e0a939819a OP-99 Export-Import-Plugin: Fix crashes on import. 
Before the UAVGadgetView is deleted, the gadget (GadgetDecorator) must always be 
removed, otherwise the widgets (toolbar) will be automatically deleted but
this might cause a crash since the gadget is managed by the GadgetInstanceManager.

ced0a4b952 AHRS: Fixed silly bug that made the default mag variance be zero - explains "hopping around" default behavior. Still should run calibration though.

16361dea12 AHRS: Making AHRS populate the NED/Vel fields of PositionActual. May rename object to PositionVelocityActual. Also created a GPSTime object which is populated from the GPRMC command. Also added a GPZDA parsing command, but by default OP GPS doesn't send this command. Made the computation of the world magnetic model use the current time to set the magnetic vector. Note: currently if you set your home location and save it to SD, this will not recompute the vector over time. I'm not sure how sensitive this is.

70f13ba896 OP-128 Flight Documentation: Added description to all the UAVObject (now mandatory) and changed the parser to populate this information into the autogenerated files. Also added a function to test if an object is read only for flight. 
Since there are a lot of autogenerated changes the important ones are:

  flight/OpenPilot/UAVObjects/inc/uavobjecttemplate.h - added description and define to make the ObjectReadOnly query
  flight/OpenPilot/UAVObjects/uavobjecttemplate.c

  flight/OpenPilot/UAVObjects/uavobjectmanager.c - added the UAVObjReadOnly query

  ground/src/libs/uavobjgenerator/uavobjectparser.cpp - added parsing of description field
